Dra. Ixel Escamilla
By the end of 2024, I had the opportunity to work on the design and brand development for Dr. Ixel Escamilla, a cancer treatment specialist based in Puebla, Mexico aiming not to present herself as a commercial brand but as an informative health professional by using social media and web to share valuable information about cancer treatment.
Her specialization and the specific needs of her market allowed me to create an identity that emphasizes her professional and human values. This identity differentiates her brand while communicating a well-defined image.
My design process for this project began with studying the doctor’s specialty, which is not only a very specific field but also a highly sensitive topic due to its focus and connection to public health.
After identifying the do’s and don’ts for the brand—regarding its visual language and the graphic materials to be implemented—I began developing a visual representation of various cancer-related concepts. At the same time, I aimed to reflect wellness, humanity, and core values from a respectful and empathetic perspective.
This involved integrating elements such as the cancer ribbon (not as a symbol of disease, but of hope, awareness, and empathy), the medical cross, an “E” (for Escamilla), stylized as a stethoscope, and a butterfly symbolizing transformation. All of these were brought together using a color scheme designed to communicate a peaceful and secure environment.

I aimed to reflect wellness, humanity, and core values from a respectful and empathetic perspective.

Once the graphic proposal for the logo was approved, I developed various brand applications for both print and digital media, and began building an informative website using WordPress as the CMS and Divi as the visual builder.
At this stage of the project, the objective was to create a platform that would not only present a detailed résumé of the doctor’s professional experience but also showcase her medical education, published work, and collaborations with other healthcare professionals in various studies, research protocols, and medical societies.
For the https://draixelescamilla.com website design process and her social media content, a photo and video shoot was conducted, using both green screen and on-site recording.
Currently, I’m working on content production for Dr. Ixel Escamilla’s Instagram profile, proposing a monthly content calendar and producing audiovisual material aimed at informing and sharing valuable content about cancer treatment and well-being with the general public.
